Westerville South lost at home 35-14 to Reynoldsburg on Homecoming. The game was a defensive battle early as both teams sustained long drives only to come away with no points. South QB Peter Pedrozzo exited the game at the end of South’s first possession with an apparent shoulder injury. After the injury, the game quickly turned in Reynoldsburg’s favor as South struggled to pick up momentum on offense. Reynoldsburg scored the first score of the game early in the 2nd quarter on a 6 yard TD pass from Michael Whatley to Andree’ Mock. The Raiders would never trail in the game after their first score. The Raiders took a 12-0 lead into the half and extended the lead to 28-0 early in the third quarter until Kaden Saunders scored on a 90 yard kickoff return. South would make the game interesting after a 14 yard TD pass from Brayden White to Javi’er Wills to close out the third quarter. Reynoldsburg put the game away after a 4 yard TD run by Courtland Bullard in the final quarter. The Raiders outgained the Wildcats 389 yards to 179 and capitalized on 5 South turnovers. South fell to 4-1 with the loss while Reynoldsburg improved to a perfect 5-0. Up next for South is a home tilt against Olentangy while Reynoldsburg travels to Pickerington North.
