In a battle of conference rivals, Westerville South lost to rival North at home 61-55 in “the battle for the ‘Ville”. This was a tight game throughout as neither team led by more than 9 points during the course of the game. In a game tied at the half, North managed to pull away early in the second half and managed to hold their lead the rest of the way. North had a lot of contributors in the win with Philip Alston leading the way with 18 points. Chase Perkins and Noah Lawrence each put up 12 pints for the Warriors. Lawrence put the game away late with key free throws. Senior Jordan McMilian led South with 15 points. Senior Devin Caldwell also had a strong game for South, netting 10 points. South’s record fell to 6-12 with the loss while the Warriors improved to 11-9. Up next for South is a non-conference game at Johnstown-Monroe on Tuesday, 2/12.
