Westerville South lost an away conference game to rival Westerville Central, 52-45. South fought hard, but couldn’t hold on to an early lead and was done in by poor shooting in crunch time in front of a packed house. The game was knotted up at 12 after the first quarter. Behind solid three point shooting from Peter Pedrozzo, South took a 6 point lead at the half. In the third quarter, South built a lead as large as 10 points, with Senior Jordan McMillian leading the charge. The fourth quarter was all Central as the Warhawks outscored the Wildcats by 12 points, icing the game with solid free throw shooting. Chaz Dixon led all Warhawk scorers with 18 points. Tasos Cook pitched in 11 points for the victors. McMillian led South with 17 points while Peter Pedrozzo netted 9 points. South ends their conference slate at 3-7, 6-14 overall. The Warhawks improved to 12-12 overall, 4-6 in OCC Buckeye play. Up next for South is a home game against Thomas Worthington on Tuesday, 2/19.
