Westerville South ended their 2018-2019 basketball campaign with a 65-63 overtime loss at Reynoldsburg in a district playoff game. Undersized South gave the home team all it could handle in this contest and played one of their best overall games of the year against the heavily favored Raiders. Each team traded one point leads through the first two quarters to send the game into halftime tied at 20. South played tenacious defense against Reynoldsburg throughout the third quarter, opening up a lead as large as nine points late in the period. The Raiders outscored the Wildcats by 7 points in the final frame to send the game to overtime. Neither team held a lead greater then 3 points in the OT period. Down by two in the last seconds, South couldn’t convert in the end. All OCC Senior Jordan McMillian led South with 23 points in the contest. Senior Jason Singleton hit 4 3’s to finish with 12 points and Peter Pedrozzo finished with 11 points. South ends their season with a 6-17 record with their eyes towards improvement heading into next season.
