Westerville South lost to tough non-conference foe Pickerington Central 55-48 at Central. This game was tight throughout, with neither team holding a lead larger than eight points. South won the low scoring first quarter 7-4 as both teams felt each other out. Central regained the upper hand and took a 20-19 lead into the break. Central held their lead over the entire 2nd half, holding off several runs by South. Key free throws down the stretch by Conner Maciag sealed the victory for Central. The loss ended South’s six game winning streak, dropping their overall record to 7-4 while Central improved to 7-3. Up next for South is a road conference game at Westerville Central on Friday night.
