OCC Buckeye conference leading Westerville South overcame a slow start to pick up the victory at Tri-Valley 60-50. The day after an emotional victory over rival Westerville Central, South started sluggish and trailed 18-13 after the first quarter. South came to life in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Scotties 15-6 in the quarter to take a four point lead going into halftime. South controlled the 2nd half and Tri-Valley was unable to sustain any runs and tighten the game. As usual, there were many contributors for South. Junior guards Peter Pedrozo and Jaden Guice led South in scoring with 13 points each. Junior Tabari Howard also ended in double figures for South with 12 points. Skye Bryan led the Scotties with 16 points while Keaton Williams scored 11. South has now won 8 of their past 9 games and upped their overall record to 9-4, 4-1 in OCC Buckeye play. Up next for South is a conference road game at Olentangy next Friday. South defeated Olentangy at home on 12/6, 65-58.
