In a battle of the coaching Calo’s, Ed Calo’s visiting South team took the victory over his son Anthony’s Pioneers 72-57. South picked up their third straight road contest with the win and improved to 4-3 on the season. South got off to a quick start led by 8 first quarter points from sharpshooter Peter Pedrozo, who would go on to score a game high 18 points for the Wildcats. Except for a brief period in the third quarter, South led the entire game and held tough when the game got tight in the second half. South had a balanced scoring effort with five players scoring in the double digits. Tabari Howard has continued his recent strong play posting 13 points while Drey Carter, Stephon St-Cyr and Jaden Guice all netted 12 points. Andre Irvin led the Pioneers with 15 points and Ryan Cutler added 13. South will try to add to their winning streak next Monday in a tough road tilt at Dublin Coffman while Orange hosts Dublin Jerome in their next game.
