South started fast and never trailed in defeating Olentangy Orange 62-54 at home for a key conference win. Junior Jaden Guice followed up his 27 point performance from Tuesday with a game high 20 points for the victors. South came out on fire from three point range, draining five in the first quarter to take an 8 point lead after the first frame. South would extend the lead to 12 at the half. Orange started the third quarter with an 8-0 run, cutting South’s lead to just 4 points but would get no closer for the rest of the night. Balanced scoring continues to be s strength for South with Peter Pedrozo scoring 17 points and Tabari Howard 14. Pedrozo was sharp from deep, draining five 3’s. South improved their record to 12-6 with the win, 6-2 in OCC Buckeye play and remain tied for the conference lead. Jason Foster led Orange with 20 points. Up next for South is a tough non conference home game against 11-6 Upper Arlington.
