In a strong performance on Saturday night, the Lady Wildcat Swimmers defeated Hilliard Darby High School in a dual meet with a final score of 106 – 58. The WIldcats won 6 out of 8 individual events and 2 out of 3 relays. The Wildcats took the lead early in the meet with a top time in both the 200 Medley Relay (Ellsworth, Stacey, Bowling, and Henderson) and 200 Free Relay (same line up). The Cats dominated the 50 Free, 100 Fly, and the 100 Breast taking first, second, and third place in each of those events.

Freshman Emily Ellsworth continues to shine with first place finishes in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Breast. Maeve Stacey (Sophomore) took second in both the 50 Free and the 100 Breast. Caroline Bowling (Freshman) finished first in the 100 Fly and 2nd in the 100 Back. Cassidy Carter (Sophomore) had a standout performance in the 500 Freestyle with a season best time taking first place. Other top finisher for the Cats were Senior Taylor Henderson (2nd 200 Free, 1st 100 Free), Sophomore Ini Oyewusi (3rd 50 Free and 3rd 100 Breast), Freshman Laura Arn (3rd 100 Fly and 2nd 100 Back), and Senior Taylor Fletcher (3rd 100 Back).

The JV swimmers had a strong showing, with Claire Gleason finishing 2nd in the 50 and 100 Freestyle. Freshman Chloe Closs had a strong performance winning the JV 100 Fly, with Alia O’Brien not far behind in 2nd place. Nora Eichenberger won the JV 100 Breast.

Wildcat Swimmers head back to the training pool this week to prepare for next competition which is against Westerville North and Westerville Central. The WIldcats, Warriors, and Warhawks will battle for bragging rights on Friday Dec. 21 @ 5PM at the Westerville Community Center.
