Westerville South High School vs Westerville Central High School

A disappointing night for the Wildcats based on the scoreline, but an excellent effort nonetheless. South battled hard and created some chances, but Central was a bit faster, quicker and hungrier on the night.

Finding themselves behind 2-0 at half-time, the Wildcats took a risk with a change in their system of play, going to a three back line and adding a second attacking player. Sometimes defensive players are overlooked in reporting of soccer games so it is important to point out when they do good things. This Westerville South defense was great last night and has been excellent all season for the Wildcats. Led by seniors Delanie Daugherty, Megan Bame and Christina Himes and joined by Juniors Samantha Varney and Emma Secrest, they have done an exception job for the team against some of the toughest attacking teams.

The Wildcats will take on Newark HS Thursday night at 7:00pm for their Senior Night to complete their regular season schedule. First up in post-season play is Chillicothe at WSHS 7:00pm next Monday.
