The indoor track & field season wrapped up for five Wildcats this past Saturday, March 2, at the OATCCC Indoor State Championship Meet held at the SPIRE Complex in Geneva, Ohio. The girls team was represented by freshman Brooke Holloway in the pole vault. Brooke tied the Westerville South indoor school record with her vault of 10’6″, which earned her a 13th place finish! Ibukunoluwa (Eman) Alfred raced his way to personal best performances in the 60 meter dash and 60 meter hurdles. His time of 7.14 seconds in the dash earned a 15th place finish, while his time of 8.50 seconds in the hurdles established a new Westerville South indoor school record! The highlight of the day was the boys 4×200 meter relay of Kaden Saunders, Eman Alfred, Gideon Abimbola, and Austin Fickeisen. They were seeded 19th overall and ran out of the slowest of three heats with their qualifying time of 1:33.54 seconds. They proceeded to blaze their way to 3rd place overall with their impressive time of 1:30.07 seconds! Their time also broke the previous school indoor record by more than 1.5 seconds!
