The Wildcat Varsity Swimmers competed at the OHSAA Sectional Meet on Saturday at Kenyon College in Gambier. Wildcat swimmers were ready to race, with a majority of the athletes posting life time best swims.
Freshman Emily Ellsworth had an outstanding meet with a 5th place finish in the 200 IM and a 4th place finish in the 100 Breaststroke. Ellsworth’s time puts her in the 4th place seed at the District Meet and in position to go after one of the at-large qualifying spots at the State Meet.
Freshman Caroline Bowling posted a pair of lifetime bests in the 200 and 500 Freestyle, advancing to the District competition in both.
Sophomore Cassidy Carter came back from a week of sickness with an unexpected 11 second drop in the 500 Freestyle which was enough to earn her first individual advancement to district competition.
Seniors Taylor Henderson and Dylan Gary both had impressive time drops to advance to districts in the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke, respectively.
Congratulations to the swimmers who will be moving on to the next round of competition with the District Meet that will be hosted next Friday at Ohio State University. The Wildcats will compete in the following events:
