Wildcats News · South Divers off to a great start


The Westerville South Diving team is off to a great start!  Head Diving Coach Ron Kontura and assistant Coach Jayne Ackerman have joined the program this year, taking over for long time Coach Matt Temple.   Divers kicked off their season on Friday night at the Worthington Kickoff Invitational, the diving portion was hosted at the Westerville Community Center pool.   Sophomore Diver Abbey Williams placed 9th with 107.55 points and Senior Diver Chip McGrew earned 5th overall with a total score of 119.05.   The Wildcat Divers joined forces with Swimmers to take on Olentangy Orange in a dual meet on Saturday.   Sophomores Maeve Stacey and Abbey Williams earned 3rd (124.4points) and 4th place (118.50points) respectively, and SEnior Chip McGrew placed 2nd with 140.3 points.   Coach Jayne Ackerman was pleased with the improvement from one meet to the next.  The WSHS Divers will head to Kenyon College on Saturday for the Fletcher Gilders Diving Invitational next Saturday.
